Why hire a magician at a wedding?
Hiring a magician for your wedding is a fun and exciting way to make your special day that little bit more memorable for you and your guests. A magician can not only entertain your guests but also help to break the ice and ensure everyone has a good time.
When would be a good time for the magic?
There are two main times when a magician can perform at a wedding:
During the bridal photographs.
Wedding photographs of the bridal party can take, on average, two hours. This is two hours where wedding guests are left milling about with nothing to do. Added to that, most will be strangers to each other. This can be an uncomfortable and even boring time for these guests. This is where “mix and mingle” comes in. Sean can entertain any guests not involved in the photographs with magic - keeping the atmosphere fun and relaxed. Guests will be amazed when they see much of the magic happen in their own hands. This breaks the ice and gives guests who may not know each other something to talk about. This is a fantastic way to start the wedding celebrations as your guests will be relaxed and entertained, starting the reception as you mean to go on!
Wedding Breakfast
Before, during and after the wedding breakfast are also perfect opportunities to introduce a bit of magic to your day. As guests are seated Sean can guarantee that every guest will get the opportunity to see some magic. As sleight-of-hand magic needs very little set up Sean can easily and quickly make his way around the reception entertaining the guests. Again this is especially useful if you have guests seated next to guests they don't know.
What type of magic is best at a wedding?
As weddings can be noisy good visual magic is perfect, as even if guests can't hear they can see what's happening. This would involve Sean introducing himself to the table or group of guests, even rounding up a few stragglers to join in, and then performing a few tricks. Also at this time Sean will get their names, joke a bit and even introduce them to each other! The tricks are fast and fun, leaving the guests amazed and with something to talk about later - avoiding any uncomfortable silences.
My guest list is diverse, from toddlers to my Great-Grandmother, will they all enjoy magic?
Magic can unite everyone from the most diverse of backgrounds making it a safe entertainment choice. Sean keeps his act fun and inclusive, ensuring everyone at the table is enjoying it and joining in. Although not a children's entertainer his act is suitable for children.
How long should I book you for?
Bookings are made by the hour, usually two hours for the photographs and two to three hours for the wedding breakfast. However, each wedding is different so get in touch with Sean to discuss your plans.
